Bohemian chic batik skirt - NEGARA

How is it a wearable art ? What is batik ?

The short bohemian music festival style skirt with gathers is created in batik cotton (black, red, gold color). Batik is a rare and little-known fabric painting and dyeing technique outside of Asia, yet it has been part of UNESCO's intangible heritage since 2009... There is nothing better at the moment.

It is literally a wearable ancestral art, which is also rare because artisans create them in small quantities. This contributes to a real change in our boring and lifeless wardrobes, for an innovative, original and harmonious style.

Our clothes are therefore ethical, and the Negara bohemian skirt is of natural origin or from natural fiber. The "black red gold" model is in cotton batik and the "beige black gold" model in rayon batik - from wood therefore. The fabric is soft, pleasant and fluid for the rayon one, and the cotton one is a bit rougher but the color is vibrant.

But you're not just giving yourself wearable art, you're also contributing to a cause that's been left behind ...
Indeed, Bali is seen as overrated, losing its authenticity. This is not entirely the case, but it is true that the artisans and the community of Bali need support.

Mass tourism and investors as well as the lack of education on site are contributing to the accumulation of waste and pollution on the island. The fascinating and vibrant culture and way of life of the island of the Gods are also in danger.

This is what we are fighting for and we are donating part of the profit from your purchase to an association that collects waste on the island for reuse.

We also carry out actions on site directly towards local people in precarious situations to give them meals and help children and provide them with education, rebuild their devastated homes, support artisans and culture, etc.

In this sense, this vintage style bohemian skirt was handmade with love by artisans who are paid their fair value and who take care to make quality. No exploitation here !
Our craftsmen are the most precious thing ❤

But that's not all, this skirt allows you to wear a unique, original and refined style ; you stand out right away with this one and you can combine it in different ways: big bold bohemian or finer jewelry, a pretty crop top , a hat for a more music festival style, with sneakers for a more modern style, or simpler and casual worn simply because this skirt is enough in itself.

Also, if you never know what size you wear and fluctuate between two, it's not a problem, the skirt takes into account both sizes S/M and L/XL, thanks to the elastic waistband with smocking, the garment adapts to you, and not the other way around !

Fans of aesthetics without compromising comfort are delighted, because it allows for a fitted cut with support where needed but without tightening, you feel more comfortable and at ease. And then the gathered ruffles add a very pretty fancy side !

Plus you'll be the only one (or almost) in the world to wear this skirt, there are only 8 in each color !

When your friends ask you where you got it, you can say that they can always go and see, but that it's probably too late because you got a limited edition and your skirt is a rare gem ! (and made by Indonesian artisans)

In our "tribe" that's it, we want to support communities in need and that's why we naturally turned to a people we know well and love unconditionally, by entrusting the production of clothing and jewelry to Balinese and Javanese artisans.

If you want to add your stone to the building and support them with us (ultimately we need you too for this to continue), treat yourself to this unique bohemian piece to have it in your wardrobe now.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I wash the fabric ?

You can wash them without any problem at 30°C in the machine and iron them (but you will have little or no need to iron for some models). For the black and red cotton skirt, try ironing on the reverse side for more precautions.

Do not bleach, and you can take it to the dry cleaners to clean it if you wish.

Why this price ?

The price is justified by several facts :
The fabrics we select in Indonesia are designed in small quantities so quite rare. We also select artisanal batik fabrics - batik is an ancestral art (UNESCO listed).

Then the models, from this first fact are therefore in very limited quantities (or even in unique model for artisanal batik), but are also because the clothes are created by artisans, in a small workshop of tailors in Java or at local tailors in Bali. The work is therefore done by hand with love and we do not do assembly line design, we also pay the tailors their fair value because we refuse exploitation.

Can I return it if it doesn't fit ?

Yes, within 14 days maximum. Shipping costs are your responsibility, and we will refund you if the garment is in the same new condition as when you received it.

When will my order be shipped ?

Orders are sent within 48 hours maximum, and can be sent the same day for orders placed before 12 noon.
